Storyteller through conservation
Florida might be known for its extensive wetlands and swamps, but the state I grew to know was buried deep in the woods. Because of this origin, I grew with the environment around me, leaving me conscious of giving a voice to the land and animals that cannot speak for themselves. A few minutes outside of Tampa, Florida, I got to experience both the natural and urban sides of reality. This perspective gave me a unique ability to educate others who couldn't have that possibility. Discovering this passion for education and inspiration at the Florida Aquarium, I was able to realize the primary purpose of why I felt so passionate about the work I was doing:
The ability to protect and teach others about the beautiful and natural world we live in is not only integral to the future but it's the responsibility to owe nature what we often take for granted.
Graduating from the #1 public university in the United States, I studied journalism, photography, geography, and history at the University of Florida. I hope to pursue a life full of education to reinforce this message throughout my career.
